We are less than two weeks until the return of The Walking Dead! While you wait, you should check out this awesome prequel game for the AMC series. You step into the role of Daryl Dixon as he makes his way to Atlanta. Amazon has cut the price in half of the original price.

Official Description: The Walking Dead video game takes the undead and brings them out of the AMC Emmy award-winning TV show and into console gaming systems in a new, terrifying way. Terminal Reality’s first-person action game will allow players to assume the role of the mysterious, crossbow-wielding survivor Daryl Dixon on an unforgiving quest to the supposed safety of Atlanta. The iconic walkers will relentlessly hunt down players like their television counterparts using a combination of sight, sound, and smell. As Daryl, players will need to tread carefully throughout each new area they explore. Once discovered, it doesn’t take much to attract an unstoppable horde of undead walkers, so every threat needs to be assessed, and every situation analyzed. No place is truly safe for Daryl as he makes his way through the Georgia countryside, alongside his overbearing brother Merle, in this new, post-apocalyptic world.

xbox one dashboard

Microsoft unveiled it’s new Xbox console yesterday, titled Xbox One. Microsoft wants the system to be more than a gaming system, they want it to be your all-in-one home entertainment system.  You can connect your cable box to the system to watch TV, while controlling it with your voice.  Say “Watch ABC” and it will tune to that station.  Xbox has also partnered with Steven Speilberg to bring a live action Halo series to the Xbox and with the NFL to bring interactive content to the system.

Xbox-One Ok, lets look at the specs;

  • 64-bit architecture
  • 8GB of RAM
  • Blu-ray disc drive
  • 500 GB hard drive
  • USB 3.0
  • 5 billion transistors
  • HDMI Output & Input
  • Ethernet
  • Wi-Fi

.

Kinect is required on the new Xbox one and it’s all new.  The new kinect has a 1080p camera with a wide angle lens.  It will be able to detect the slightest movements like the turn of your wrist.  It will also be able to read your heart rate.  The new controller looks pretty much the same as the old controller, no big upgrades.  Your Xbox Live Gold membership will work on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One

The first problem I see is with the title of the system.  I see confusion with the first Xbox system which users already call Xbox one.  Next up there is no backward compatibility with games or controllers.  For a system that wants to be the only system you need for all your home entertainment, it’s not.  You will still need the 360 setup to play your old games.  Oh and if you want to play used games, you’re gonna have to pay a fee to do that.  What about people who use an antenna instead of a cable or satellite subscription, will they be able to use the TV capabilities?  Also,  it  seems a bit creepy,  a camera always on that can read a hand movement?  Big brother is watching.
